Cherry Creek Reservoir is an excellent choice to consider if remaining in close proximity to Denver is one of your priorities. There are 880 acres of water surface for you to paddle around on, giving you ample opportunity to explore the vastness of the reservoir..
Keep in mind, there is a charge to enter the park, so make sure you're getting the most bang for you buck by bringing a lunch and renting from a place that doesn't charge by the hour.

The Big Soda Lake Reservoir in Lakewood is another premier paddling destination located near the Denver/Boulder region. It's close proximity to Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater makes it a fantastic way to spend the afternoon before an evening concert.
Since powerboats are prohibited in this area, you won't have to worry about dealing with any wake. Best of all, there is a second lake just down the street if you find Soda Lake a bit too crowded.

Union Reservoir, located in Longmont, is a great option for those Along the Front Range, there are far fewer people, however, you can still take in some breathtaking scenery because of the location.
An interesting fact is that Union Reservoir is one of the few natural lakes in the state of Colorado. The usage of the reservoir will cost you, but once you're there, Rocky Mountain Paddleboard will let you rent a stand-up paddleboard (SUP). Longmont, Colorado 80504 is the location of Union Reservoir, which can be found at 461 County Road 26.

This is one of the most iconic spots to paddle in all of Colorado! Located at the top of Horsetooth Mountain, this lake provides spectacular views in every direction. Horsetooth Reservoir is a favorite destination for a wide variety of water sports and activities, including powerboating and jet skiing, as well as kayaking and paddle boarding.

It is the very first whitewater park to be constructed on the Colorado River and it is a fantastic place to hone some of your more advanced paddling abilities.
Before going out to check the current flow levels, it is a good idea to look at the park's website beforehand. Although the park does not have a specific street address, a quick google search will show you a litany of areas where people typically push in.
